2022 Best Portable Air Conditioner
2022 saw the highest number of entries for this category ever recorded. We believe this is due to the strong growth of the portable air conditioner category in 2021, led by work from home arrangements and record breaking heatwaves.
This year we welcome a new brand to the market which incidentally has knocked the previous winner off of it’s perch. The result is a radical result with some radical thinking behind it. We think it’s a worthy winner and potentially, the future of portable ac’s and maybe even the future of all cooling to come.

We we thoroughly impressed with the new Coolzy-Pro from Coolzy.com. We’d heard about their stand-out success from in their home country (Australia) and frankly, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on one. The idea of a portable air con that doesn’t using a hose and window install kit was too good to pass up. At first we thought that it might’ve been a swampy (an evaporative cooler) but no, when it arrived and we unboxed it, we saw it was a genuine compressor driven air con in a really company package. From there the little unit just kept impressing. We checked it’s power consumption figures (340w) and tested the relative cooling and it all checked out. While it’s never going to cool your house (no portable will), this is the first genuinely portable air conditioner that we’ve ever tested. It weighed as much as a suitcase and could be moved from room to room easily. All up, very impressed.
